Helping to build strong and resilience children by optimizing their health

Why would children need chiropractic care? Many of the health problems we see in adults can be traced back to the falls, traumas, and lifestyle issues you had during your most formative years. We live in a very stressful and unnatural world today. The amount of toxins and physical stress from electronics and prolonged hours of a sedentary lifestyle are having profound effects on our children.

We are seeing a massive rise in the four As: Autism, Allergies, ADHD, and Asthma, as well as things like colic, reflux, constipation, poor latching and nursing, and behavior problems. We need to take a step back. We need to not ask how we can treat these issues, but why are they happening in the first place and what can we do to get to the root cause of the issue rather than just treat the symptoms?

Our kids deserve better. Through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association, Dr. Westheimer has taken advanced courses in order to truly give our kids what they need to thrive. After taking care of thousands of kids over his career, his passion for family care has only grown. We are looking forward to our family taking care of yours.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why do kids need structural chiropractic care?

Many of the chronic structural issues we see in our adult patients can be traced back to when they were younger. From the stress of the birth process to falls while learning to walk to the extended screen time and poor posture combined with lack of physical activity, these things can cause structural shifts in the spine that impact the function and integrity of the nerve system. If left undetected and uncorrected, this can result in developmental delays, behavioral issues, and structural issues leading to things like poor posture, ear infections, lack of coordination, neck pain, headaches, and scoliosis.

Our goal is to help kids thrive from an early age and into adulthood, and to help them avoid many of the chronic issues their parents have had to deal with.

Is it painful?

No. Adjustments are not painful. Pediatric chiropractic adjustments are nothing like what you see on television or see on YouTube. Chiropractic adjustments performed by a trained pediatric chiropractor are very gentle, yet effective. Many times adjustments are performed with just the doctor’s finger tips and/or a specific chiropractic adjusting instrument. These precise and gentle adjustments usually feel great and many of our kid patients look forward to their adjustments!

What if my child is nervous (or I’m nervous)?

That is no problem. We will be as patient as we need to be with our patients. You will never be forced into a process or procedure or treatment that your child is uncomfortable with. We will do everything in our power to make the experience enjoyable for you and your child. If it takes a few times for your child to feel comfortable and relax in our office, that is perfectly fine!

How would I know if pediatric chiropractic care is right for my child?

If your child suffers from poor posture, constant slouching, one shoulder is higher than the other, a noticeable head tilt is present, or they suffer from a lack of coordination, balance, or complaints of aches and pains, they would benefit most by a comprehensive examination. If we find their issues are coming from an abnormal structural shift in the spine, we would be able to move forward in helping your child. If not, we would make a recommendation for a provider that would be best suited to help you.
